WDW Clicks #13 is now online!
We visit the new counter service Smokehouse at House of Blues, then also drop in to finally sample (and photograph) Spice Road Table, which opened a couple of weeks ago. We tour the new dining room of All Star Sports, which includes a very cool tribute to a Disney fan (rather than a Disney insider) for a change. Finally, we unveil a (small?) spoiler about the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster, so skip the last part of the video if you don't want to hear of something I assume they want kept as a surprise.

We tour the decorated campsites of Fort Wilderness, take in the holiday decorations at the Epcot Resort hotels, photograph the four new food trucks at Downtown Disney, examine the new trees now at Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster, chronicle updates at It's a Small World post-refurb, catch up on some additions to Space Mountain and Dinosaur, see the Lion King theater construction, and commemorate the return of zebras to Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Characters in Flight missing balloon and other Downtown Disney updates
We took a walk around Downtown Disney last week and recorded some observations. The balloon is missing entirely (no surprise there). They deflated the original one and are waiting for a new one to be built before they inflate the new one. It will be weeks and months, not days, before this is operating again (unless, of course, they later decide to not offer it any more).
The Splitsville bowling alley going into the former Virgin megastore / former Princess Diana exhibit / former RIDEMAKERZ shop is still under construction. If you peek over the walls, it doesn't look like much beyond "destruction" has occurred yet. Didn't there used to be signs on the construction walls talking about a Fall 2012 premiere? They aren't there now. Was there a delay or problem with financing?
The former 8-Trax dance hall is now painted a nondescript color, and is not used for anything.
The volcano at Rainforest Cafe is being rebuilt.
At World of Disney, there are signs for a Brazil-themed Duffy for sale. Smacks of both opportunism (it's definitely the season for Brazilian tour groups) and desperation (sales of Duffy aren't great) at the same time.
Inside the store, I ran into these upgraded "just wed" Mouse ears - pretty neat!
Nearby were these "circus afro" Mouse ears, obviously inspired by the Madagascar movie (not a Disney movie, mind you).
Lastly, a look at some of the newest Vinylmation releases.

Car Masters Weekend at Downtown Disney
This past weekend was the second annual Car Masters Weekend at Downtown Disney. This is a classic car show, with several additional elements thrown in for good measure.
All the classic cars are here, but perhaps more than most car shows, the vehicles displayed are museum quality. Many are brought in by truck rather than driven, so it's no surprise that the motors, when displayed by raised hood, look pristine and spit-polished. That's because they are.
There are other exotic cars here, even if they aren't vintage. Want your picture taken with a Rolls-Royce? This is your chance.
Speaking of exotic, the Richard Petty Speedway brought out stock cars and a Ferrari from their Exotic Driving Experience. They also set up a Go-Kart track (a simple oval), selling rides of 40 laps for $20.
But the standout for me was a different kind of exotic. Think quixotic. Who would dare to imagine a scaled up version of a Red Flyer Wagon (the kid's toy) turned into a street-legal car?
There were food trucks available, offering their own exotic wares. I didn't try it, but I was certainly intrigued by the cheeseburger that replaced regular buns with Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Again: who would have imagined it?
Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Finn McMissile were on hand as well for photo-taking, though the line was over an hour long.
Some vendors set up tents and gave away merchandise and coupons. These were no ordinary coupons, either! The Hess tent handed out several coupons per person, and it's likely each person walked away with at least one free $3 drink the next time they visited.
The presence of cars in Downtown Disney was a bit odd. There's nothing thematically that suggests a car show would be a good fit here. But it certainly does no harm, and it definitely drew crowds. I hope it continues into its third year and beyond.
