Today I got to meet Dick Nunis, the onetime head of all Walt Disney parks and attractions. This is a man who once got chewed out by Walt when he was a Working Lead on Jungle Cruise, and later rose to command just about everything that mattered in the company (in the 80s). He was, and is, history incarnate.
He was nice, and pleasant, when I met with him. Others have claimed he can have a gruff demeanor, but I sure didn't see it today.

That's great. He worked with my grandfather a bit. He's also involved with GKTW, both from his days at Disney and since he retired. Wonderful man.
Did you ask him about Van France? I'm sure he has some great stories there too.
I worked as a Area Chef at Disney in 1979.
He was then vice president. Dick NEVER lies and said to me one day that BETTER days were coming.
I checked his salery and he was making $450,000 a WEEK!
Many of the people I worked with had 2 jobs trying to support their familes
About 3 years later I turned on the TV and heard Mike Eisner saying he made 63 million that year and that he was promoting Mr, Nunis To Chairman of the Board and his new salery would be 52 million a year!
Better days did come...and like I said the man does not lie.
