For many Walt Disney World fans, this big news this week was the ABSENCE of news coming out of the massive D23 Expo. This was the big event of the year for the Walt Disney Company, and the place where surprise announcements were made before. Even at the much smaller WDW-based Destination D (also a D23 event), there was a surprise announcement concerning the parks, in the form of the Tiki Room’s impending return. Fans have become accustomed to expecting announcements to appear at the big events, but this time, there were no surprises concerning Walt Disney World. The Fantasyland Expansion was talked about, and a visualization of the Seven Dwarves Mine Coaster was shown, but this constituted the release of details about known projects, not the unveiling of something previously unconfirmed.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter Detail #764
Part of what makes the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure so amazing is how they bring all the details from the books and movies to life. Here's the first photo in a series of images that will chronicle many of these magical minutia.
Guests strolling through Hogwarts castle will encounter the house points hourglasses. Featured in the Harry Potter films, the hourglasses record the points earned or lost by members of the four Hogwarts houses throughout the school year – scarlet represents Gryffindor, blue represents Ravenclaw, green represents Slytherin and yellow represents Hufflepuff. Inspired by J.K. Rowling’s compelling stories and characters, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the most spectacularly-themed entertainment experience ever created.

Saffran Restaurant in Orlando delivers!
I'll have a full review soon in miceage, but suffice to say that this menu recalls Sanaa (at DAK Lodge) and Morocco (at Epcot) but is tastier and cheaper. Cheaper by half. I'll be back!
