A groundswell of CM scuttlebutt is beginning to build, at least at the lowest levels, that projections for the Pirate and Princess party events are way, way behind. And that this event may not be offered in future years.
I submit for further consideration this tidbit: our bill at the Rose and Crown this evening came with a Pirate/Princess flyer tucked into the server folder. Have they EVER resorted to this kind of marketing before? It reeks of desperation.

CD of "Finding Nemo the Musical"
Many folks have posted in their website columns, blogs, and message forums that the tracks to Finding Nemo the Musical are now on iTunes for download ($10 for all 19 tracks). We bought that instantly. It's not the cast of the show down here (except for V. as Crush) but for the most part, the performances are pretty similar. Now we just need A. as Nemo and M. as Bruce and I'll be pretty happy.
Randy Thornton has posted that the CD will be a theme park exclusive when it comes out later this year. In the meantime, I can't stop playing the tracks I've bought (which I think is the whole CD, so I may not buy it again).
I'm hooked. It's been cycling nonstop in my winamp for a few days now. Rescue me!!!

Give Kids the World now has a presence AT the "world"
Give Kids the World, an organization that handles most (all?) of the traffic sent by Make a Wish and other wish-granting organizations once the families arrive in Orlando, has a facility near WDW. But this week, Disney World itself has opened a lounge for GKTW (Disneyland also opened one recently).
It's a tremendous charity. Don't donate until next week, though. I have an article coming soon on MiceAge with an idea to pool our donating resources... donate then!!

Now you can work at Disney parks too!
The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that one of the newest "dreams" to be given away during the year of a million dreams marketing campaign is the chance to work as a Jungle Cruise Skipper, Mansion host, parade performer, or pirate for a day. Needless the say, the jokes about Disney's desperation to find new workers just write themselves :)
A family from Michigan won the first night in Cinderella's Castle. Bully for them! I want to go!

Graphic Waterfall - something for Disney?
I can just picture Disney putting something like this into its theme parks: http://www.devilducky.com/media/56717/
In brief, water is dropped in a curtain in droplets that form patterns, much the way ASCII art can be used to make "pictures" or words when seen from a distance. Cool!

Fake Disney attractions posters
Fake Disney attractions posters, created by a fan, led to the fan getting a job doing it "for real" with Disney. The Swan Boats one is incredible!

Contemporary DVC permits now online
Thanks to Werner for this heads up:
Though the Contemporary DVC construction is not yet announced publicly, the regulatory forms are filed with Reedy Creek and some are now available for viewing:

No denying it now. The Contemporary Suites are on their way!
